ESOL Committee

The ESOL committee educates, advocates, and supports families with students and/or parents learning English as a Second Language. The committee also partners with MCPS ESOL staff to provide resources and learning opportunities to families and ensures availability of interpreters at MCCPTA events.

About Jennifer Jackson, Committee Chair

Jennifer Jackson serves as the MCCPTA ESOL Committee Chair and is an active member of the Bayard Rustin Elementary School PTA. Her passion for advocacy was birthed from her personal experiences as an ESOL student navigating through MCPS and PG County private school systems. Over the last 15 years Jennifer has formally provided Spanish Language Interpretation services in the community including Prince George’s County Public Schools, Montgomery County Public Schools, private companies, churches, community meetings, medical facilities, and legal proceedings. Jennifer is a proud MCPS employee, devoted to making a positive impact in the lives of students and families. She and the MCCPTA ESOL Committee are committed to empowering parents and caregivers to advocate for their children, to educate, advocate, and support families with students and/or parents learning English as a second language. The MCCPTA ESOL Committee also partners with ESOL staff, community members and other committees to provide resources and learning opportunities for families.
